Help us learn about your transportation priorities as we plan for the future!
The Grand Valley Metro Council (GVMC) is kicking off the development of our next Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) for the Grand Rapids region, which will outline funding and priorities for all modes of transportation through the year 2050. As part of the MTP development process, we will be evaluating road conditions, congestion, safety, freight movement, passenger rail, air travel, nonmotorized, transit, and other modes of transportation.
Your input is an important part of this process. We are asking the public to take our survey to help us understand their transportation priorities as we plan for the future. Students in grades K-12 can participate in our poster contest by drawing a picture of what they’d like transportation to look like in their neighborhood in 2050.
GVMC will keep the public informed during the development of the MTP, which is expected to be completed by May of 2024, and will offer numerous opportunities for area residents to get involved in the planning process and provide input. GVMC staff will send out email updates to our Interested Citizen/Agency Group, post developments on our website, hold a public meeting, and attend community events to get feedback from the public. To join our mailing list, please fill out the form here. The public can submit comments in person, online, over the phone, or by mail at any time during the development of the MTP.
