Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) Program
GVMC Receives $1 Million Planning Grant from U.S. EPA's Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) Program
With funding from the Inflation Reduction Act through the US EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG), GVMC will develop a Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP). This plan will connect and uplift existing state, regional and local plans, while preparing communities to be competitive for $4.6 billion in implementation grant funding for the policies and programs it identifies. The plan will cover the four-county region of West Michigan, including Ionia, Kent, Montcalm and Ottawa Counties.

Outreach and Engagement
As part of our planning efforts, GVMC is committed to engaging with the public through a series of public meetings which began in January 2024 and will continue through the planning process. Please see below for photos, a video of public engagement meetings in Kent, Ottawa, and Ionia Counties that have taken place so far, and an exciting video update of our next steps in the planning process. Public engagement meetings provide an opportunity for a wide range of stakeholders and industries to share their feedback, helping shape our region's plan.
Future meeting dates and locations will be posted on this page, so stay tuned for details on how to get involved.
