Distributive Justice

About

Distributive justice is the concept of ensuring an equitable distribution of both benefits and burdens throughout a community. In transportation planning, this often involves the distribution of transportation projects and their associated benefits and potential impacts. GVMC performs distributive justice analyses to look closer at how the projects in our Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) are distributed throughout the region and how they might benefit or impact various communities, especially those that have been historically underserved. See below for more information and use the tab at the bottom of the dashboard to view the draft FY2026-2029 TIP projects.
