GVMC Celebrates IRA Birthday with West Michigan Community

GVMC is co-sponsoring an event next week with Congresswoman Hillary Scholten and Cory Connolly, Director of the Michigan Office of Climate and Energy to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act.  Combined with the prior year’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, it is a generational investment in addressing the climate crisis that has already brought $246 million to Michigan between the two bills and more than $20 billion in private sector investment. GVMC was awarded funding from the IRA through US EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant to develop Climate Actions Plans for West Michigan counties and help bring our share of $4.6 billion in implementation funding to the region.
